Jacob Sayono
I am an undergraduate senior at UCLA, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Data Science Engineering.
I was advised by Dr. Yang Zhang at HiLab in Human-Computer Interaction (focus: interaction-powered systems)
and Dr. Brett Lopez at Vectr Lab in Robotics (focus: multi-agent systems).
My research interest is in Human-Robot Interaction, particulary in developing mathematical formalizations and algorithms for fluent interactions between human and machine. I intend to begin my PhD in Fall 2024.
Our research on CubeSense++ is featured on the news!
Our research on CubeSense++ is officially published to UIST 2023!
Submitted our paper to CHI 2024. This project seeks to wirelessly charge wearables by transforming interactive kinetic energy into electrical power using capacitive coupling that flows through the human body!
I completed the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) and presented my work at the UCLA research poster symposium. My poster can be found in this research journal.
Our UIST 2023 paper is conditionally accepted!
Submitted our paper to UIST 2023. This project seeks to leverage corner reflector mechanisms to transform interactions on everyday objects into detailed millimeter-wave radar responses.
Our research on MiniKers is featured on the news! Thank you to the National Science Foundation (NSF) for funding our project.
